Synopsis

I thought things were bad and weird before – hold on – it’s getting worse.

Adam and I are both going through identity crises of epic proportions as we Transition from who we were, and discover who we were meant to be. More Fae are dying, and I feel as if time is running out for us to find all of those responsible and put an end to the killings.

The people I thought I could trust have betrayed me and the one person I should absolutely not trust; is taking me deeper and deeper into his world.

Ryder’s secrets are dangerous and devastating.

With each touch and word, he pulls my heart closer to himself and at the same time he is trying to keep me at arm’s length. The dance he and I have begun, is getting more complicated as our worlds are being shaken from all sides, and the visions of the future are frightening, and nothing like I had ever pictured for myself or those I care for.

This time, destiny is taunting me.

I had always thought that I controlled my destiny. Now, my rights are being taken from me by powerful people and leaving me with alternatives that range between bad and awful.

This time, the choices I have to make can decide the fate of both worlds.

Everything is unraveling, and nothing will ever be the same again.

Natasha’s 5 Star Review:

I didn’t think that anything would top how I felt about Fighting Destiny. I am so in love with that book. Once I started reading the 2nd book in the series which is called Taunting Destiny, that all changed.

Taunting Destiny starts off where the first book ended. Syn has uncovered some pretty important information and isn’t sure what to do with it or even who to trust! Almost everything she has known her whole life is a lie, including who she is. There is a lot of background information about Syns past that brings things to light and explains why things are the way they are for her! The fate of the worlds literally rests on her shoulders. No pressure right?? She is so strong, independent and totally my girl crush right now! I wanna be Syn when I grow up
Ryder is still the sexy, dominating, alpha male dark prince who will do anything to ensure that his contract with Syn does not get broken for the sake of “protecting her”. He cannot understand why he can’t just quit her! He doesn’t want to want her but certainly doesn’t want anyone else to have her either!

“I need to own you, Syn, to control you.”

If you thought the scenes between these two were hot and smoldering in Fighting Destiny, just wait. The tension is so thick and the sex between them even hotter. Ryder is so aggressive, but surprisingly gentle at the same time. Syn is a better person than I because I’m not sure I would’ve had the willpower to hold back.

“The feeling of being at his mercy was erotic and terrifying.”

The support they have for one another through this book is astounding! Syn and Ryder go through so much in this book between their pasts, and now their present challenges. Fighting to have each other but trying so hard to stay away as well.
The storyline is amazing, always keeps you guessing what’s going on happen! If you think you had it figured out after the 1st book like I did … You don’t, and you aren’t even close There is so much thought put into this book about where the characters are going and where they have been. Not just Syn and Ryder, but all the secondary and new characters that are introduced as well! The revelations will blow you away!!.
It’s such a roller coaster ride and wonderful read. Taunting Destiny was so beautifully written. Some parts were so emotional and broke my heart into a million pieces. Other parts were hilarious, silly, enchanting and light hearted and I loved that about it.
Amelia is such a great author and I love what this series as a whole will do for the paranormal genre. It has given it a new life and I enjoy that it’s different than the norm.
I cannot wait for the third installment, as Taunting Destiny leaves you with quite a large, heart stopping “WTF” cliffhanger. I don’t normally like that but for some reason this one makes me excited, giddy and ready for the 3rd book Escaping Destiny!!
Thanks again Amelia for letting me step into this world, even for just a little while!
5++++ stars for me
