~~Danielle’s 4 Star Thoughts~~
This is a great start to this new author’s career. Her writing is mature and flows with ease. The story is told by Sylver in the first person, although there are some confusing point of view changes. The chapter transitions are also a little awkward, but easily fixable and don’t affect the overall story. While the story is fresh and creative, most of the characters reflect stereotypical stock characters and there’s a bit of an over kill about eyes and eye color. I am a true romantic and crave the stories that involve courting and a chase and put me on the edge of my seat for every intimate milestone. While the story involves romance I would call it more raw sexuality rather than romantic intimacy. I am a total prude, so my preference is the latter, but those who like raw would appreciate these scenes. Overall, I like the story, but I didn’t necessarily crave it. There was an interesting twist and you are left with some unanswered questions and a cliffhanger to set up book 2. With that being said I would recommend it if you are looking for an Urban Fantasy/Paranormal series.
*Sylver: I love her name, which proves to define meaning within the story. She is relatable and real.
*Jay: The stereotypical flamboyantly gay interior designer best friend who has his own piece in the world of witches.
*Zander: The good looking Greek God vampire who has a sweet and dangerous side.
