Navigating the world alone is all Josephine Geroux has ever known. Life altering tragedy struck early on for her. She endured an admirable struggle through her youth and learned the hard way how to adapt and survive. She managed to arrive at adulthood in one piece in spite of it all.
After such chaos, maintaining a life free of complications is a priority for her.
Everything changed when a man with amber eyes came through her door and claimed her heart. She fell hard in more ways than one. The pull between Jo and Damon seemed like fate bringing things full circle.
With another devastating loss looming, Jo fights to hold on to the very thing that brought her to her knees. She finds herself torn between a promising future and clinging to a devastating past.
But that’s not the most worrisome problem on her hands.
She must convince more than just herself to let the past stay in the past, where it belongs, but on her journey to find closure and resolution, she does the exact opposite. An old wound caused by a heinous act becomes exposed for what it is. The truth is catastrophic and Jo is helpless, watching as the ruins of her fragile world endure more turmoil.
Can something conceived from tragedy and malice end well? Can something so completely poisoned conquer adversity? Jo is left to make a decision; accept the circumstances she finds herself in or fight with unwavering ferocity to restore what has been damaged.
Restore Me is Book 2 in the Wrecked Series. If you have NOT read Wreck Me yet please do not read this review.
“No. You wanted someone to save you from that shit? Well, here I am. Let me save you. You were an innocent kid. None of that was your fault and neither was the accident.”
After reading Wreck Me I could not WAIT to get my hands on this baby, and oh boy I was not disappointed. I do NOT read Teasers (most of the time) and I didn’t read the teasers posted about Restore Me so oh boy was I in for a shocker when I started reading Restore Me. I felt like my heart plummeted to the ground and I was left scraping it off the floor; however; it was quickly picked up and put back together and placed nicely back into my chest.
I was so happy to have Damon back in my life, after reading Wreck Me I wanted to smack him for doing such a stupid thing and then hug him and heal him and love him back to the Damon we all know and love. Not only is he determined, successful, sexy as hell, he is totally in love with Josephine. And the sex oh boy the sex – he will leave you panting with his alpha male sexy ass demands! Holy hell!
“If you tell me that you’ll give yourself to me, I’ll be taking you completely. I’ll have you in every way a man can take a woman. I’ll put you on that bed, or anywhere, for that matter, and I’ll fuck you until you beg me to stop. I’ll take everything you have and then some. You asked me what I need and this is it. I need you, All of you.”
(Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm okay! Sign me up – let’s get to it Damon – take me please!)
Oh that’s right he was talking to Josephine, not me (sad face)….So yes Damn is still sexy and demanding as hell and I think that’s why we all fell in love with him. In the beginning after his “ordeal” he was seriously pissing me off (now don’t go thinking he pissed me off to the point where I was ready to cash him in for a new book boyfriend – that would NEVER happen) I wanted to smack the shit out of him and tell him to stop acting like a douche and take back the woman he loves. But we all know men sometimes they aren’t the sharpest tool in the shed and they need a little push from us women, so that’s what Jo did – she pushed him, and she didn’t let him push her away. (Atta girl – take back your man!)
“Listen to me, Damon. I’m not giving up on you. I know you’re in there somewhere and I swear I’ll bring you back. I promise.”
Jo, oh what else can I say about Jo that I didn’t say in my last review for Wreck Me. She is a spitfire type of woman; sexy as sin and doesn’t take shit from anyone. She will tell you like it is and put you in your place faster than you can say “fuck me Damon”. (Damn and wouldn’t that be sooooooooo nice). I felt for Jo throughout this entire book because all I wanted was for her to be happy and it seemed like life kept throwing obstacles in her way that she had to overcome. But the love she had for Damon didn’t stop her, she pushed and pushed and wouldn’t give up on him even thought there were a few times I felt like she should. Her love for him was strong and she wasn’t going to give it up without a fight.
Grams is back and in full swing. Such a feisty young hearted woman and she cracks me up, her circus peanuts and all. For me she is an older version of Josephine. Feisty, spitfire and tells you like it is. She won’t hold back just to protect your feelings and she is just the same in this book. She even shows her frisky side with the handy man Andy – oh yes!!!
Restore Me is a beautifully written story about putting back together the hearts of two people that desperately want to love and just be loved by each other. Damon and Jo have overcome so many obstacles in their past and they deserve to be happy. It seems like no matter what life throws at them they will push through and come out on the other side stronger.
“You deserve every bit of it. You’re my reason.” “For what?” “Everything. I’d be lost without you. Josephine, you save me a thousand times a day in a thousand different ways and you don’t even know it. I remember thinking that I wanted to be your person that day at the accident. Even back then I wanted to be there for you. You should be called ma’am.”
Oh and WAIT! You know there is a 3rd book right – Accept Me – so would could this mean? Yep there is another whopper in this story that will have you eyes bulging out your head and saying “Whatttttt?” Yep so you know I can’t give anything away but the surprises keep coming and will leave you turning page after page just to find out what is next. I am so happy for J.L. Mac and being picked up by a publisher for this series. Damon and Josephine are on my list of the greatest fictional couples list and I can’t wait to read more of their story and learn more about them. Great work Jaimi!
