Reason to Breathe and Barely Breathing by Rebecca Donovan

Reason To Breathe

From Goodreads:

“No one tried to get involved with me, and I kept to myself.  This was the place where everything was supposed to be safe and easy.  How could Evan Mathews unravel my constant universe in just one day?”
He knows there’s something more to the girl sitting in the back of the class the moment he sees her.  She’s beautiful, intelligent, and athletic – but she slips quietly through the crowded halls, trying not to exist.  Determined to get to know the elusive girl, Evan soon discovers…
Emma Thomas is hiding a terrible secret.
Reason to Breathe is an electrifying page turner from start to finish, a unique tale of life-changing love, unspeakable cruelty, and one girl’s fragile grasp of hope.

I gave this book 6 out of 5 STARS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will basically start of by saying this book and series is my all time favorite. I Can not get enough of Emma and Evan. I think I have read each book a total of 6 times each. Also Evan Matthews is my first Fictional Boyfriend!!!!!!! Reason to Breathe is an emotional roller coaster. This book has left a mark in my heart. Rebecca Donovan has a special talent for making you feel everything you never knew was possible at the same time. I really felt bad for Emma. I literally would have jumped through these pages and been her back bone and helped her through the horrible hell she was living in. I thought everything would get better once Evan was in her life at first it did, but it made things worse for her. She felt guilty for having a good time even if it was in school. The torture that Carol put her niece through is sickening. But the truth is that this really happens in this world. I think that is also why I am in love with this series, this could be so real. Its not like falling head over heels in love with a Billionaire happily ever after (which I do love). It is just very real. She ended this book in such a great place, that you couldn’t do anything more that sit on pins and needles waiting for the second book to come out. I recommend this book 110% for everybody to read. It put a real perspective on life and makes you appreciate your life more.

Barely Breathing

From Goodreads:

Emma’s struggle with an abusive home life came to a heart pounding conclusion in the final chapters of Reason to Breathe.  Now everyone in Weslyn knows Emma’s secret, but Carol can’t hurt Emma anymore.  Some are still haunted by the horror of that night, and some must face the repercussions of their choices.  Fans of Rebecca Donovan’s debut novel will discover there’s still much to learn about Emma’s life.

Another 6 STAR’S******

She made it! She survived. Now all I can think about is finally Emma and Evan can have their happily ever after. WRONG! I really didn’t know how much more she could do to us in the second book. Wow!! This book was great, I do in some ways wish Evan and Sarah were in this book a little more considering what a major part of her life they were, but I do understand that Emma needed to grow as a person, fix some personal problems and she could only do that herself. I couldn’t believe she moved in with her mother. The same woman who couldn’t care for her and sent her to her Aunt and Uncles who almost killed her, in a way she did die that night inside. Then Jonathan is introduced. I really liked him at first, until he became a complete creepster! He really weirded me out towards the end. So I am and always will be Team Evan on this one. Things then started to get strained she started to cover for her mother, her and Evan got off track, boo. But Just when Emma and Evan go big and finally sleep together, Boom there is the creepster Jonathan and ruins any chance of happiness that was going to happen. Then the ending happened and I am stuck here impatiently waiting till June 2013 for the last book to come out so I am hoping I can finally get my happily ever after for Emma and Evan. I pray that it will end just like that. By Far this is my Favorite series. Please everyone if you are on my blog, obviously we have similar taste in books. If you havent read these yet, I suggest you get off of my blog and go get them and start reading them now. This is something you will not regret or ever forget. It has been month and months since I read this and I still cant seem to shake these book from my brain, nor do I want to.
