Title: Rock My World
Series: A Mondez Novel, 1
Author: Lee Piper
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Publisher: Evernight Publishing
High school teacher Grace Thompson didn’t want to be a mentor. And she sure as hell didn’t want to mentor Levi Mondez.
They got off to a rocky start, but it wasn’t entirely her fault. How was she to know he was the lead singer of local rock band, Mondez? How was she to know he considered her short temper a turn on? And how was she to know her best friend, Riley, would fall for him?
If he wasn’t so damn gorgeous it might have made the whole mess easier to handle. If he didn’t transform Grace into a blazing furnace of need, and if he hadn’t confused the hell out of her already bruised heart, life might have turned out a heck of a lot differently. She was screwed.
This is Lee Piper’s first book and for a debut she did great. I was sucked into the story, I found it well written. Better than some of the debut books that have hit the market in the past several months. Her characters are developed and although there were times I wanted to smack Grace, I really enjoyed the storyline and the banter between the two main characters. I loved the fact that this story takes place outside of the US and that the author kept with the wording and dialect of her Australian characters.
Grace Thompson has had a rough past year to say the least. Losing her father has to be the hardest challenge in her life. To top it all off her boyfriend at the time of her father’s passing dumps her via text message. The only thing that kept her going was her best friend Riley. Grace has grown cold with the world. The once happy, vibrant, outgoing girl is gone and in her place is “Bitch Grace.” Queen of the comebacks and sine remarks has made her tough to get along with. One last ditch effort by her roommate and bff has Grace at The Hole, where Riley wants to listen to a local band play and see a guy that she has the hots for. When Riley introduces Grace to Levi, vocalist and frontman for Mondez, an up and coming local rock band.
Levi Mondez seems to have it all together. Studying secondary education and singing for his band. He is sex on a stick. Tall, sexy, handsome as hell and oh so sweet. And a voice that has panties dropping as soon as he hits the stage. When he meets Grace at the last show he and his band will have for several months, he can’t help the undeniable attraction that he has toward her. He sarcastic, mouthy attitude gets him going. The more she tries to push him away the harder he fights back. Challenge accepted. He is determined to find out just who hurt her and made her outlook on the world so bleak.
Holy crap! The banter between these two is hysterical at times. Levi dishes every snarky comment right back at Grace and then she comes right back at him again. There is no denying the chemistry between the two of them. If you can’t feel it from their first meeting then you need to start over or put the book down…lol Rock My World is a relatively quick read. I loved the secondary characters and this story would not be complete without Riley and Dom. I look forward to reading what comes next in this series.

Lee Piper is a lover of books. She often juggles reading seven novels at a time for the sheer joy of it. At the grand old age of five, Lee Piper decided to become an author, however found a limited market for her unicorn stories. So, high school English teacher it was.
At thirty-two, and grieving the loss of her second miscarriage, Lee Piper turned to novels—Kylie Scott to be precise—to escape the pain. This then inspired her to write Rock My World, the first in a four part contemporary romance series. Her debut novel not only reached the second round of the 2016 Emerald Award, but also became an Evernight Publishing bestseller within the first two weeks of publication.
Lee Piper lives in Adelaide, South Australia with her drummer husband, cheeky daughters, and one very crazy dog.
