~~~Laura’s 4.5 Star Review~~~
Man of My Dreams is Faith Andrews debut novel and I have to say I really enjoyed it.  I felt that the characters were extremely believable and well thought out.  I think she did a great job as far as the editing and development of the story line.  It is not often that you read a debut novel that is as well edited as this one.  That scores bonus points with me.  I tend to be a stickler for editing.  Any way enough of that.
Mia has been in love with Noah since the day she set eyes on him freshman year of high school.  She has hoped that some way, some how they would become a couple.  Mia’s best friend Grace, tries to tell her to just give up on up on Noah and move on. But she continues to pine away for him. By Senior year, they have had a few classes together but nothing more ever developed.  Realizing that they will be nothing more than acquaintances, Mia heads off to college.
Declan has just started college and has set his sights on Mia.  Only having had one real serious relationship in high school he is hesitant to approach Mia.  But he feels this unbelievable pull towards her.  And after a month of careful consideration he makes his move.  After dating for a few years,they find themselves married and with their first child on the way.  Mia is teaching and Declan has accepted a position with an accounting firm.
What seems to be the perfect marriage on the surface, is not the case.  Declan is spending longer hours at work and is now required to travel more often.  When he is caught in a lie, Mia’s trust in him is tested.  And when she can no longer accept  his apologies for a mistake he makes while at work, she throws him out.
When the opportunity arises for Mia to attend her 10 year high school reunion she jumps at it.  She realizes that she may get to see Noah again and maybe, just maybe she can see if it will lead anywhere.
I love the depth of the characters.  How Faith writes such a believable story.  Stuff like this happens in everyday life.  I for one can say that those first few years of marriage are awesome and then kids come into the picture and we are now trying to juggle how to be a mom and a wife.  And somehow the wife gets lost in all of that.  Patience is tested, loved ones who should be our top priority no longer are and we slowly fall apart.  Being a stay at home mom is what Mia wants.  She loves her children with all her heart.  But at the end of the day she is exhausted and just wants to call it a night.  Without realizing it she is pushing Declan away and the only way he knows to deal with it is to bury himself in his work.
Declan loves Mia and his girls more than life itself.  But he does not know how to communicate with her anymore.  He has felt them pulling apart for sometime, but does not realize that he is equally responsible for the issues that lie between them.  When he makes that one mistake that sends their marriage into chaos, he doesn’t know how to fix it.  Begging to come home and professing his undying love to Mia does not do the trick.  When his mistake send Mia into the arms of another man, Declan realizes that he needs to step up his game if he is going to win the love of his life back.
“I miss you, Mia. Please let me come home. I will never stop fighting for us. I love you!”
This story is a roller coaster ride of emotions.  I wanted to scream, cry, jump for joy, pout and beat them all up at some point.  The only reason why I did not give this 5 stars is because I felt that the ending was rushed.  Declan makes one last ditch effort to win Mia back and I felt that it all happened way to fast.  Other than that I really enjoyed this story. Go and one click it today, you will not be disappointed!
