Collide

Collide: Hit with force

After the death of her mother, Emily Cooper moves to New York for a fresh start.  Living with her best friend Olivia and being closer to her boyfriend, Dillon, Emily feels like life is starting to fall into place.

Dillon Parker has skeletons in his own closet that he tries to keep buried because he knows he can’t live with Emily and he will stop at nothing to keep her by his side.  Nothing and no one will come in his way.

Gavin Blake is your typical rich, sexy, and charming Casanova who can have anyone he wants and with one look at Emily she is who he wants.  Not knowing that she is the girlfriend of his friend Dillon he will soon have to battle with what’s right and wrong.

The pull between Gavin and Emily is strong and neither is sure they can stay apart from each other.  Emily is torn between the man she loves, Dillon, and the man who has rooted himself inside her body.  Will Emily listen to her heart or her head?  Will Gavin and Emily fight against their urges and live their separate lives or will their passion and gravity pull for one another collide and change their lives forever?

“She’s out there, son, and when you find her, you’ll know it the very second you see her.  She’ll pull at your every instinct.  Without any regard to the natural order of things, she’ll just….appear.”

WOW oh WOWS!!!  Okay so I was going to wait and read this because I knew there was a small cliffhanger and I wasn’t sure I could handle it.  I shouldn’t have waited, this book was outstanding!  I laughed, cried, screamed, pulled my hair, cussed at my kindle, grinned so hard my cheeks hurt, basically devoured this book.  Gail McHugh can tell one hell of a story and I am now a fan forever.

Okay I am going to start with Dillon because he will get one short and sweet paragraph from me and he may never be mentioned again throughout my review.  Dillon = pompous ass, douche-bag, butt wipe, overbearing, over protective, controlling, jerk…..YEP I think that about covers him…moving on!!

Emily aka “Molly” well I loved her for the most part.  Sometimes dealing with ^^^ him up there, I wanted to reach through my kindle and smack the crap out of her and tell her to wake up and smell the roses that your boyfriend you think you love ohhhhh so much is a JERK!  I also loved her because she struggled between following her heart and her mind – and I think a lot of girls can relate to her.  She just wants to be loved and to love with everything she has.  She knew deep down what and who she wanted but I think she was scared of getting hurt.

“Yes, he was that good looking.  Take-your-breath-away good looking.  Want-to-strip-your-body-naked-and-let-him-devour-you-alive good looking.  Certified-eye-candy good looking.” – Emily

Who is Emily talking about???? Oh here we go!!! Gavin Blake (need a minute……………..still trying to calm my racing heart and get my mind out of the gutter, sorry his name just rolls so nicely off my tongue…Great tongue now I am thinking about the things he can do to me with his tongue..STOP IT ENA!!)  Okay I am good to go!  Gavin Blake is a Casanova who can have whomever he wants and he wants Emily.  He is rich, charming, sexy as hell and well everything that Emily said ^^^^^ up there!  He felt this connection with Emily from the first time he laid eyes on her and not even his friend Dillon could stand in his way.  Gavin is everything wrapped in a nice pretty big red bow that I would love to unwrap!  A great description of Mr. Blake would be:

He was definitely a fuckable, bedroom-voice-and-eyes-bearing specimen – Collide

He is passionate as hell:

“Damn it, Emily.  I want us!  You belong with me, not him.” He half snarled the declaration.  ”Every part of you was made for me.  Your lips were made to kiss mine, your eyes were made to wake up to me looking at you in my bed every morning, and your fucking tongue was made to roll my name off of it.  I am more certain of us than I’m certain that I require oxygen to breathe.”

Boy of Boy I want my very own Gavin Blake.

But goodness Emily is so gullible and falls for Dillon’s crap every time I turn around.  I felt like my head was going to explode.  I was screaming at her so many times that she needs to drop his sorry ass and choose Gavin or damn it I would take him off her hands.  Gavin loved her with every ounce of his being.

“Let me love every part of you.  Your mind…” He trailed his fingers down her neck. “Your body…your heart…your scars…” His hands ghosted back down her waist.  “Your quirks….your…………habits….your thoughts….all of you.  Give me all of it, Emily.”

Yes I am officially in love with Gavin Blake.  I devoured him.  I devoured every word that left his mouth.  I devoured ever thought he kept in his head.  I wanted to devour him by the end of this book – he crawled inside me and took residence in my heart!  Totally swoon worthy!!!

Olivia aka Emily’s BFF and my make believe BFF had me rolling throughout this book.  True and dedicate friend who only wants to see Emily happy and also on the plus side also hate Dillon and feels Emily could do so much better.  I mean she really, really hates Dillon – (ahhh girl after my own heart)

“Make yourself useful and unpack her belongings or something, Donkey-Dick-Kong.” – Olivia

“It may make for some great sex tonight with Douche if you keep Mr. Tall Dark, and Fuckable Handsome in mind.”

As you can see I could probably keep going on and on and on about this book because that’s how much I loved it.  There is a slight, small, tiny, itsy, bitsy cliffhanger at the end but nothing you can’t handle.  So glad I decided to take the plunge and read this book.  I want to give it a million stars but since we are mostly on a 5 star rating I will take the plunge and give it 10 stars (hey I make the rules here)….

Gail McHugh needs to hurry and release Book 2 Pulse so I can get more Gavin and Emily.  Hoping that Olivia is in this story too because she is my BBF (Book Best Friend), I loved her!  My appetite is starting to dissipate and my tummy is growling for more Gavin!  My final note is if you have this book and haven’t read it – READ IT!  If you don’t have it, get it – READ IT!  Love love love love love Collide!
