Loneliness suffocates the heart. Acceptance breaks down walls.
As a Lost Girl to the Forsaken Motorcycle Club, Nicole Whelan knows how to party. She’s not cut-out for relationships and her life is way too complicated for anything more than casual encounters. But one night when she falls into Duke’s bed at the clubhouse, he sees something in her that he can’t let go of—no matter how many times she tries to run.
Having been left to raise her teenage brother, Jeremy, she’s already got her hands full and isn’t looking for anymore complications. But Duke’s just watched his best friend fall for the only girl he couldn’t have, and then almost lose her so shortly after, shaking him to his core. Faced with his own loneliness, he’s more determined than ever to break down Nic’s walls and show her that he can be good for her; but he’s got a bad track record and she’s got a bad temper. Changing his ways isn’t easy when he’s not sure what he’s even changing for.
The violence and turmoil are at an all-time high, and Forsaken is in a vulnerable place when a twist of fate breathes new life into the club. It’s a much-needed beacon of hope for the embattled biker family, even if everyone’s not exactly on board. With Duke and Nic’s relationship already on shaky ground, and something even more important at stake, the Forsaken Motorcycle Club will fight like hell to keep their family together and whole.
Love is never more precious than when it’s new.
Hold on to your panties ladies …. If you thought Ryan was hot in Ride, you’re gonna go crazy for Duke!
This series is different from others in that Ride & Thrash run almost parallel to one another. I loved it because it filled me in on what was going on during certain scenes in book 1.
Duke and Nic have known each other a LONG time. Her dad is FORSAKEN, and after he gets incarcerated, Nic has to take care of herself and her brother – she becomes a Lost Girl. After turning Duke down time and time again, she finally gives in (he’s very persuasive – believe me).
“I promised myself I wouldn’t do this, not with him. This is what happens when I drink too much. I make poor decisions.”
Afterwards Duke claims her as his own. Nic is not ok with this and fights him hard on it. The only thing hotter than their fighting is the making up – and the making up is H-O-T!! Like have to put the book down and catch your breath sexy!
“The only thing worse than denying myself Duke is having Duke and then losing him”
Nic is scared that no matter what, Duke is gonna get bored and eventually move on leaving her heartbroken and alone. They go through the push and pull of their relationship. Duke is hot as all get out. A smoldering alpha male and tough as nails within the club. He totally has feelings for Nic and is super sweet with her, goes out of his way to make her feel loved and wanted no matter how much she pushes him away!
A part of Nicole’s history comes back to haunt her and thrown in with some additional twist and turns, it’s through the confidence of overcoming this, that she finally gets Duke is in it for the long haul!
“He’s given me solid ground for the first time in years. When I’m with him, I know I’m wanted and I’m cared for, but even more than that – I’m respected”
I love this series and literally read both books in a day and a half. It’s SO addictive and I couldn’t put it down. The story is amazing, and the characters are extremely easy to get attached to. Everyone should have a Duke in their lives!!!
“I need to show her in the only way I think she’ll understand that I care about her and I’m going to are about her in a few weeks, and a few months and even years down the line. I’m going to show her that this is forever”
I cannot wait to read the next installment!!!! Easily one of my favorite MC series. Thank you for sharing this wonderful story with us JC!!! Without a doubt, total 5 stars from me!!!
