Book Review – Snowed Over by Angie Stanton

Snowed Over

To college student, Katie Brandt, ‘Home for the Holidays’ sounds like hell. When her parents separated, their holiday traditions shattered like a dropped ornament. What could be worse than celebrating Christmas with her suddenly single mom and mom’s new boyfriend?

Alex Walker, an engaged 20-year-old, dreads going home for his own reasons. He has a daunting task ahead of him and wishes he could skip the holidays altogether. So when a friend of a friend needs a ride north, Alex finds that having beautiful Katie seated by his side proves to be just the distraction he needs.

A simple ride home for Christmas turns into a nightmare when light snow rages into a full-scale blizzard. Katie and Alex find themselves stranded, and a vacant cabin becomes a haven from the storm.
Under different circumstances, time alone with Alex would be the ultimate Christmas gift, but Katie knows Alex is engaged and she must hide her growing attraction.

However, Alex harbors a secret that just might change this holiday from the worst Christmas ever, to the best.

This is one of the best romantic novella’s I have ever read!  I am so glad I got the chance to read this!  I love curling up on the couch and reading a sweet novella!  Alex and Katie are adorable together!  I loved reading the story from both of their POV’s.  And FYI if I’m ever snowed in, I want to be with Alex!
The last thing Katie Brandt wants to do is go home for the holidays.  Now that her parents are separated, every tradition she’s ever known is changing.  So going up North to spend time with her mom and Tom, the not-boyfriend, is not very exciting.  She gets a ride from a friend of her room mate and just knows this is going to be the worst trip ever, especially when he shows up late!
“He said two o’clock, and it was twenty minutes after.  If there was one thing she hated, it was not keeping your word.”
Alex Walker is dreading going home for Christmas.  He can’t wait to see his family, but he knows some decisions and conversations need to happen with his fiancé that he would rather avoid.  But it has to be done.  (I hate Trina, his fiancé!  I wanted to smack her so bad!)  So when he is asked to give a friend of a friend a ride, he agrees.  What he didn’t expect was for her to be so beautiful, but she definitely distracts him from his problems!
When bad weather takes a turn for the worst and a freak accident leaves them stranded in a cabin with no electricity and no cell service, Katie and Alex have to find away to stay warm and avoid their undeniable attraction to each other.  Katie knows Alex is off limits because he is engaged but the longer they are stranded the harder it is to avoid.
“Katie paced the cabin, pissed at Alex for making her feel so stupid.  He was engaged and had no business kissing her.  One gaze deep into his eyes and she fell hook, line, and sinker.  She was such an idiot.  And how dare he kiss her like that when he was marrying another girl.”
Alex wants her BAD, and the sexual tension between these two is intense!  He has to make her understand that things in his life aren’t exactly how they seem.  Could this turn out to be the best Christmas ever, or even worse than they both planned for?
“If you don’t mind, I’m going to kiss you again.”
Snowed Over is sweet and romantic but also has a great storyline.  The drama that was added all made a great story even better!  I loved the characters and the only thing I would change is that I wanted MORE!  This is amazingly written and I will definitely be reading more of Angie Stanton’s book soon!  If you love a quick & romantic read, then this is the book for you!
