Book Review: Purple Orchids (The Mitchell Sisters #1) by Samantha Christy

Purple OrchidsSynopsis

One day . . . one moment . . . one letter.
One lie.
That’s all it took to change the course of our lives.

Gavin McBride
She blindsided me. Broke me. Shredded me.
And now she’s back, thinking I did the very same thing to her.
When I reach out to her, I get more than I bargained for. Much more.
There’s nothing to forgive. But I need her to forgive me.
There’s no way to go back. But I need us to move forward.

Baylor Mitchell
I found a way to survive.
Without him. Without us. Without the future he promised.
I never hid from him. I didn’t know I had anything to hide.
Until he threatened everything I knew to be true.
When he came back and I found out it was all a lie.

We need to accept the past.
We have to learn to trust in the future.
We must risk our hearts once more.
If we want any chance at reclaiming a love that never died . . . on that one day . . . in that one moment . . . with that one lie.

Note to reader: This book is a standalone novel. It is the first in a series that follows three sisters.

One letter changed everything.

Gavin McBride thought Baylor Mitchell was the girl for him but it was all a lie. Or was it?

Gavin broke Baylor Mitchell when she needed him most. He promised her a future and then disappeared.
Years later, they see each other again. But something is wrong, she upset with him but how can that be when he is upset with her? What is going on?
It was all a lie!
Gavin wants Baylor to forgive him, they can’t change what was done to them so they have to move forward.  But can Baylor risk her heart again? Her love for him has never died but can she trust a future with the one she loves? It not working out would break Baylor and she has already been broken once.

It is the first in a series that follows three sisters. What a great book! I loved it. It was a great first book in this series. It has some twists and turns that will drive you insane because I want Gavin and Baylor together. I tell you too much because it will spoil the story and I don’t want to do that but there are issues these two have to get through if they have a chance at a future. Can these two have the HEA they deserve?
This was a great story and I discovered a great new author that I love.
