Life gets lonely, but trusting someone new, when the people who meant the most to you in the past have broken it is not easy. Choices not your own have a funny way of affecting your life long after the person who made them is no longer in it. Julia and Clay know all this from first hand experience. When two people who can be so right for each other but both have trust issues and secrets that they HAVE to keep it can make for a tumultuous relationship, if the relationship can even survive. It’s so hard to see two people who obviously have a searing connection go through such difficult times.Lauren Blakely did a fantastic job of building the keeping her readers on her toes with this book. It’s hot, sexy, and full of angst. Her characters are quirky, sexy, and strong. I can’t wait for the next book to find out if they are able to overcome their difficulties or if past choices by other people are going to continue to ruin their lives.
