He’s empty, inhuman, dishonest, and cruel.
She’s never wanted anyone more.
Sydney has lived in fear for eight years after freelance assassin, Merc, failed to rescue her from a cult-like militia group. Left in the hands of a sadistic man, she did whatever it took to survive. But Merc’s last words gave her hope. Hope he’d be back to finish the job.
Merc knows just what to do with a fearful girl like Sydney after he was betrayed by her father that night. He wields sex, drugs, lies, and love like weapons—and Sydney is his target.
He’s in control. He’s always in control. But Sydney Channing is not what she appears. And Merc’s only redeeming act, the very one that made Sydney’s life a living hell, might just be his worst mistake yet.
Another amazing dark read by J.A. Huss. I was very worried towards the end but I LOVED IT!
JA Huss gives me another great dark romance read. I found Meet Me in the Dark to be a story that kept me second guessing what I thought was going to happen until the very end. Not only did have all the great elements of a dark romance but it had all the great elements of a truly messed up romance novel. I don’t believe that JA Huss could ever write anything dark that I won’t immediately fall in love with.
Merc is dark and disturbing and I found myself questioning him and what his angel was the entire story. Sydney was someone I wanted to protect and wanted to find her, her happily ever after. In my own sick way everything about Merc was sexy and alluring. There was so much darkness and uncertainty in this story that I was literally holding my breath until the very end. I truly had no clue as to what the outcome of this story would be. Would Sydney get sucked into the darkness? Would Merc finally see the light or be the darkness that ultimately destroys Syndey?
JA Huss certainly knows how to make her readers squirm with anticipation and angst. If you love Dark Romances than JA Huss is defiantly an author that will not disappoint you. She writes amazing dark romances and I would encourage anyone that enjoys this type of dark and disturbing but addicting and consuming read to pick up Meet Me In The Dark and devour it.
