synopsis

Hairstylist Azalea March is looking forward to a wild weekend in Las Vegas with her friends. Oh, sure, they’re supposed to be there on business, attending the biggest hair show on the west coast, but that doesn’t mean they can’t have a little fun. But fun quickly turns to drama. On the first morning of the show, Dhane, the biggest celeb of the hair-styling world, is found dead. As it urns out Azalea’s friend, Vivian, not only knew Dhane, but the tale she weaves of how they met is faker than a showgirl’s uh… assets. When Vivian confesses to the murder and is arrested, Azalea knows there’s no way she could have done it and suspects Vivian may be trying to protect someone. But who?

Azalea now has to convince Alex, the sexy detective from her past, to help her prove Vivian’s innocence and comb through clues more twisted than a spiral perm. But the truth is stranger than anything found on the Las Vegas Strip, and proving Vivian’s innocence turns out to be more difficult than transforming a brunette into a blonde.

4-Stars

Azalea March is a hairstylist who is depressed about her lastest hopeful as a boyfriend her friend Viv boyfriend James’s friend detective Alex Craig who never called her back. So When Azalea’s hairstylist friends Juan Carlos and Viv  talk her into going to the North American Salon Expo in Vegas they have to drag her there to get her out of her hallmark channel, depressed shopping funk. Vegas might just be the fun Azelea needs.

On the very first day Dhane, who is the biggest celebrity in the hair-stying world is found dead. Viv spins a tale about how her and Dhane met which is such a unbelievable lie  that she cant believe her friend thought it was believable.  Then the unthinkable happens and Viv confesses to the murder.  Azelea cant stay out of trouble trying to solve this mystery and when James and Alex show up. She now has to deal with Alex and solving this murder so Viv can go free but with each clue it gets harder and harder to find the truth but she has to prove Viv innocence.

This was a laugh out loud mystery that was so out of the box and straight up crazy. Azalea is has been burned by guys in the past so she doesn’t think twice when Alex doesnt call back that there might be a reason. She is quite clueless  and thinks she can solve the crime because she watches CSI. The writing is witty that makes you laugh at some of the made up words used. It was a very interesting read that kept you on your toes because the mystery surounding Dhane death got much more challenging to solve. Plus I just love Alex and the rest of the unique characters.  Great read!
