In Working It, New York Times bestselling author Kendall Ryan delivered a sexy and addictive contemporary romance about Emmy Clarke, a sweet southern girl out of her depth in New York City’s cutthroat fashion industry, and Ben Shaw, the hot male model who introduced her to a world of pleasure. But their story is far from complete…
Emmy Clarke is no quitter. Toughened by her experience working for fashion heavyweight Fiona Stone, Emmy has come a long way from her country girl roots, embracing her fast-paced and unpredictable life in New York City.
Though that life comes with more than a few complications.
First there’s the mystery of Fiona’s pregnancy, which may or may not involve Emmy’s boyfriend, superstar male model Ben Shaw. Emmy has always known that Ben comes with more baggage than she can handle—and not the Louis Vuitton kind. Yet Ben is the only man who has ever loved Emmy for who she is, and she wants nothing more than to do the same for him, even if it means forgiving his past and overlooking their wildly different lifestyles.
But when a shocking secret from Ben’s past comes to light, unraveling all of their progress, Emmy must decide if their relationship is worth the fight, or if it’s time to ignore her passion for him and let go.
Craving Him is the follow up from Working It and while Kendall worked it with Working It, she left me craving him, with Craving Him.
I think I fell more in love with Emmy and Ben during Craving Him. Emmy is strong and determined. She is independent and I loved the way she worked for everything she had. She is a great friend, honest person, hard worker, and loves easy. Ben is well he is Ben still and he is every bit as lick able in this book that he was in the last if not more. He wants something different in life and he knows that Emmy is his different. He doesn’t want the superficial things that so many in his industry crave he wants something real and he goes after what he wants.
Their relationship has never been easy, especially with Fiona. Well yes she is back and bitchier than ever. I cannot stand her. She makes my skin crawl and I find myself wanting to rip every limb from her body. She is fake and plastic and superficial and everything that Ben does not want but the bitch never gets the freaking clue and causes so much damn grief in their relationship that sometimes I found myself wanting to smack the flipping’ crap out of Ben and tell him to wake up – the bitch is crazy!!!!
Part of my heart broke for Emmy because of what Fiona caused and how Ben reacted to it. Even as strong as Emmy she is couldn’t be by Ben’s side when Fiona was there. Fiona was catty and vindictive and used her history and knowledge of Ben in her favor, to hurt Emmy and make her question their relationship.
When a secret from Ben’s past finds its way into her present everything falls apart. Emmy is gone, not being able to look past this particularly part of Ben’s past. Although Emmy craves Ben and loves him with her whole being there are certain things that she cannot forgive and look past. Can Ben fight for the one person in his life that sees him for him or will his past prove too much and destroy the future that Emmy wants so badly?
Craving Him supplies a whirl wind of emotions from love and compassion to jealousy and anger. Kendall did an amazing job of pulling me in and holding onto me the entire way.
