Book Review: Collide: A Novel by J.C. Hannigan

Harlow Jones has a troubled past, and a questionable future. Surrounded by death, tragedy, and intrigue, she is forced to mature long before her time. Plagued by anxiety and depression, she hides her inner turmoil with spite and sarcasm. Her thick skin is impenetrable…or so she thought. Until she becomes involved with her grade twelve English teacher.

In this exclusive entry into the new adult genre, with raw style that is as dark as it is poignant, Collide presents the ultimate choice: forbidden love or doing the right thing.

Harlow Jones has been surrounded by death, tragedy with a troubled past. She a dark character who hides behind sarcasm. She moves to a new place to leave the past behind. She meets her 12 grade English teacher and sparks fly. She thinks its one sided, until she just asked him straight out if he feels the sparks too. What will he say? Will they give into forbidden love or do the right thing?
I was hooked to this book. I love broken characters who grow. But if you don’t like student/teacher romance books, this might not be the book for you.  But the book isn’t just about the student/teacher will they won’t they? Harlow stands up for a girl who is in trouble and from that and Harlow gets sucks into that drama. Its a good book. I was upset with the ending and how it just ends. I wanted his perspective after everything happened.  But their might be a second book so fingers crossed. Great teacher/student book!
