Learning how to survive in her new world, Julianna has no choice but to play “The game of Life.” Except it’s Nick‘s game, and his rules apply. Captivity, drugs, and submission are the cards that are dealt, and it’s a losing game.
Biding her time as she waits for her rescuers, it’s far from smooth sailing, because all too quickly the rules abruptly change as Nick takes matters into his own hands…
As the drama unfolds, and hesitating to interfere, Travis has everything to lose should he decide to step in, including his life. It’s opposition at its finest – freedom versus control as Nick and Julianna face the ultimate battle of wills.
While Travis has the uncanny ability to manipulate her with a single touch, Nick struggles to conquer her body, mind, and soul.
It’s every man for themselves as each have their own secret agenda, including Julianna, whose plan is simple: survive.
If you have not read Blyss (Blyss Trilogy #1) by J.C. Cliff don’t read this review. I don’t put spoilers in my reviews but just in case. I want you to experience the entire ride from the very start. As soon as I finished Blyss there was no waiting to dive right into Blyssful Lies. The ending of Blyss was without question a big laugh fest for the author. I guarantee she was saying “gotcha” at the end knowing that the readers could not wait to dive into book 2. In Blyss we were introduced to the leading lady, Julianna, and the amazingly sexy yet bird poop crazy (you see what I did there? – I took the bat s**t crazy and changed it without cuss words because we all know Amazon and those cuss words), Travis and Alex. We were strapped down for this jacked up ride and got a glimpse of what was in store for Julianna. I am sure at this point many if not all of us swooned over Travis and wanted to chop Nick’s giant tic tacs off and shove them down in throat. Or maybe you have secretly thought that Travis was not only dominate but sexy as sin and you would like nothing more than to have him tie you up and spank your pretty little buttocks than sooth it with his tongue (oh wait you haven’t? Okay sorry I guess that’s just me).
So anywhoooo – in Blyssful Lies we get lots of Nick…..Good god Nick….
I hated him, loathed him, and wanted to watch him murdered slowly with a diet coke in one hand and a tub of popcorn in the other. Nick was the mastermind of where Julianna finds herself right now. He is just as crazy in Blyssful Lies as he was in Blyss. In the beginning to the middleish we start to watch their “relationship” start to come together. I will admit that Nick grew on me. Yes, he is still crazy but sometimes crazy is good right? And come on y’all he is sexy as sin, so what if he likes to spank you or provide you with numerous back to back explosive releases with his body, who am I to complain. So yes I will admit I was starting to fall for this dark bird poop crazy man and I was torn between Travis and Nick. And than it happens the first big BOOM. The moment where the author gets all up in your face, sticks up the middle finger and chuckles at the facial expression you are going to be sporting when this happens. My blood was boiling; I was like Frankenstein there was smoke coming out of ears. The whole chopping off his tic tacs sounded good right about now. What did Nick do? Well you know…He (BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP) and than he (BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP) oh and than the cherry on top of that jacked up sundae he (BEEEEEEEEEEEEEP) so yah know? Whatever!
At this point I will tell you the story really starts to pick up. There is so many different roads J.C. could have taken this story and I think she picked the right road. It was nothing but ups and downs and twists and turns. I couldn’t believe everything that happened in Blyssful Lies I have no clue where J.C. is going to take us in Blyssfully Undone. I can tell you that I am not going to miss that ride for anything. I devoured it just like the first one, I couldn’t get enough. The flow of the story was still amazing, the characters whether you love them, hate them, or teeter between the two are all so well written and dynamic. Nothing within this Trilogy so far is boring; there are no parts where you find yourself wanting to skip ahead. Every page will pull you in and hold you captive. There are surprises at every turn and J.C. herself was right when she said that you think you may know, but you have no idea. I can’t speak highly enough about this series, it will always be a recommendation of mine for anyone who loves Dark Romance. I am 100% sure that Blyssfully Undone will leave me in utter book hangover Blyss!
