Book Review – Almost Broken Up (Almost Bad Boy Series 2) by A.O Peart

Almost Broken Up Cover

How far would you go to protect the one you love?

The terrors of Colin’s past are revealed and accepted by Natalie. Her doubts about letting him into her life are finally disbanded and replaced by a sense of security and commitment. But Natalie doesn’t know that Colin’s past hides more dark secrets unknown even to him.

When a delusional psychopath threatens Colin’s life, things quickly become complicated. Natalie’s stubborn character and desire to kick ass won’t let her step aside and allow the authorities to handle the danger. She gets herself tangled up with street hoodlums, befriends a Russian mobster’s high-maintenance girlfriend, and becomes expert at picking locks and hiding evidence.

This is the second book in the Almost Bad Boy series. Natalie being the understanding and amazing person she is learns of Colin’s past that still haunts him and supports him and wants to help him overcome it. Now that she knows Natalie feels more secure in her relationship with Colin and is able relax a little more with Colin.
Natalie can’t relax for long because Colin past resurfaces in a crazy person who contacts Natalie and threatens Colin’s life. She is not having any of this and instead of going to Colin or the police; she enlists her new friend an russian mobster’s girlfriend to help figure out why this delusional crazed person wants to harm Colin.
After reading Almost Matched, I had no idea where the story was heading and I was extremely surprised. Natalie does a few things that I’m screaming at her while reading “NO!!!” ” Are you crazy!?!?” But she doesn’t listen to me and continues doing what she doing bravely and I question her sanity as I read. I also like that she is doing this all for love and Colin. It could cost her life but she so stubborn she just acts without thinking it through. She has to get to the bottom of this so she and Colin can have their happily ever after. Will she be successful?
I just love Colin and Natalie as a couple. The sexual scenes are well written. I love Ali because she is a character. It’s a great cast of characters in this series. I was sad to see the book end but I can’t wait for book 3.
