Blog Tour & Review – A Whole New Crowd by Tijan

Taryn grew up in a different world. Her boyfriend was a criminal. His older brother was part of a gang. They weren’t great people, but they were her family. Then everything changes when she’s sent to a new family in the neighboring town. New family. New friends. A new world. She’s elated. This is her chance for a new beginning, but secrets start being revealed and Taryn learns her new life has some ties to her old one, ties that she’s not happy about. Her new family might not have been the lucky break she thought she had.

Then he nodded. “Congratulations.”
“On what?”
“You earned their respect.”
I snorted. “I don’t care.”
“I know.” A smile teased at the corners of his lips. “They saw that too and because of that, they fear you now.”

“I may be an asshole, but I’m an asshole you can trust.” He smirked as he reached behind him and then placed a cold bottle in my hand. “I promise.” He took my other hand and led me back downstairs.
Maybe it wasn’t a great decision, but I gave in. The fight was always in me to survive and for once, I didn’t want to fight. I wanted to be watched over. If he volunteered for that position, so be it. Brian never watched over me. I watched over him and Jace had rarely been around.
When he sat on the couch, I curled up next to him and enjoyed my place among his group of friends. As the morning and afternoon passed by, I heard and saw the respect they had for Tray. They listened when he spoke. Everyone turned to him and no one ignored him. They genuinely liked him.
People had never genuinely liked Brian or Jace. Jace was feared. He was respected, but I didn’t know if anyone in his life liked him. It was the opposite for Brian. He was tolerated. He was a hothead. No one knew when he would explode and so he earned a reputation as being unpredictable. He was met with caution wherever he went.
It was an alien feeling, watching this different world unfold before me.
I liked it.

ADDICTIVE! There is not a moment in this book when you won’t be questioning what is going to happen next. So much drama and angst. Plus in true Tijan style we get a kick a** girl, but we also get several leading men who you can’t help but love (even if a few are very dangerous)! You will be on the edge of your seat wondering where Tijan is going to take us…

A new future. A new family. Everything he said was true. I knew it was the right thing to do, keep going and never look back, but my god, it was killing me.

Taryn has had a rough life. She has been tossed from foster home to foster home her entire life. Her boyfriend and his brother, Jace, were the only family she had. But they weren’t great people. Jace was in a gang, and her boyfriend was a criminal and drug addict. Now everything is changing. She has been adopted and her new family lives in the neighboring, wealthy town. Taryn needs to cut ties with her old life and embrace this new chance at having a family she is being given. But it isn’t easy to leave the only family she has ever known.

“I can’t do this.”

“You can.” Jace leaned over and pressed a kiss to my forehead. I closed my eyes, absorbing the touch. The he whispered, pulling back to his seat, “I love you, Taryn, but I hope that I’ll never see you again.”

Now she has a new family. A new brother and sister. New friends. A new school. Where does she fit in in this new world? She wants a new beginning, a fresh start at life. But sometimes you can never truly escape your past no matter how hard you try. Tray is the most popular guy in her new school, and in the most unlikely way they both understand each other. They are both strong minded, and won’t back down from anyone. Tray and Taryn form an unlikely friendship, but soon that leads to more.

“Let yourself feel. You need to.” He stepped back, shaking his head. “Use your emotions, Taryn. They’ll make you stronger in the end.” ~Tray

When secrets come out about her new family and her old family, Taryn’s world is once again torn apart.   Tray is there for her when she has no one else, but he has secrets of his own.   What happens when tragedy occurs? Will Taryn be able to find the answers she is looking for? Or will her new life fall apart before it even begins?

“Betrayal. Loss. Pain. Lies. Manipulations. All of it. Everything that had happened to me was coming back at me. It felt like I was being seared on the inside, like someone plunged a hot poker through me. I wanted to hurt someone else.”

I am a HUGE Tijan fan! Everything she writes grabs you from the first page and don’t let go until well after the book has ended. This book is like a mix of everything we love about Tijan. You have the strong female character, a couple of sexy guys, a little danger, wealthy families, and a TON of drama! I fell in love with Jace, but… I loved Tray and Taryn together! This is another must read from Tijan!

Tijan started writing later in life, after she had already graduated college with a different direction in mind and a different degree under her belt. Hitting the brakes on that path, she taught herself how to write a good book and began posting at sites such as Fictionpress, along with Wattpad. After receiving such encouraging messages from readers, she self-published Fallen Crest High and has continued throughout the year. She continues to keep writing NA books!
