Synopsis

This is the story about a girl who lived, died, and met a guy… in that order.

Is it possible to find true love and happiness, while condemned to purgatory until the end of days?

Olivia Brennan wasn’t eager to find out. Working for a division of Purgatory and Associates, her job consisted of one headache after another, caused by the impatient souls waiting to move onto eternal paradise. After a hard day at work, she was most content to stay home, watching reruns or reading a book. Aside from a few friends occasionally forcing socialization, her afterlife was nothing special.

That all changed the moment Drake walked into her life. He was handsome, charming, and had a sadness behind his eyes she could relate to. It seemed that Fate had finally brought her a kindred spirit…

But could Olivia move past her own dark regrets of the life she left behind or would falling for him demand the ultimate sacrifice—herself?

Shasta’s 5 Star Review

I was asked to read and review Prayer For The Dead for Swoon Worthy Book. First let me just say – Thank You Nicki Scalise, Prayer For The Dead was a breath of fresh air for me just when I really needed it.  Sometimes I get so caught up in reading romances and things that I forget that I need a great paranormal to keep me sane!!! Although I am trying to wait patiently for the next book to come out, but I absolutely fell in love with this book.

When I started reading Prayer For The Dead, I was think I am going to be able to start reading and put it down when I need to, but let me say that was not this case. I was hooked from the beginning, I could not put it down.

Prayer For The Dead will leave you wanting more. You will meet Olivia Brennan, who is a worker for Purgatory and Associates dealing with souls who are basically in limbo. And like some people who are not always fond of their jobs after working at them for a while, Olivia finds herself with more and more headaches with dealing with all of the difficult souls that just don’t pray enough to move on to the afterlife. Olivia has her hand full of stressful moments.

“If I could go talk to his wife, I’d tell her to drop to her knees to pray for him, so he can move on. Better yet, hold a proper funeral and then those prayer would help him move on Just do something, anything, to get him off my back.”

But Olivia, against her better judgment then goes out with her friend to a club where she then meets Drake. She is instantly drawn to him and wants him, but senses that he is not being upfront about his job until after he performs his talent on her.

Now one thing I will say is guess what I am not telling you anything else from here because I want you to get the book and read it. You will not be sorry, but like I said be prepared cause it will leave you wanting more.
