Book Review – Escaping Destiny (The Fae Chronicles #3) by Amelia Hutchins

ed cover

I thought things couldn’t get worse. I was wrong.

I found out what I really wanted and was forced to give him up. Just as I found out who I really am, I was presented to the elusive Horde King as a gift.

This was the mystical being I was hidden from for more than twenty years.

Although Ryder promised to save me, I couldn’t let him get near this creature, so I willingly (sort of) signed myself over to be his new plaything.

Now in the Horde Realm, nothing is going remotely like I thought it would.

My powers and emotions are on the fritz, and each day seems to bring surprises that I am not sure how to deal with.

The Horde King thinks he has me exactly where he wants me.

He thinks he has taken all of my options away.

I still have choices.

Embracing what destiny has planned for me, or escaping it.

5 Star Review

I have been a big fan of Amelia Hutchins and The Fae Chronicles Series since I read the first book in the series Fighting Destiny.  Now, this is the third book and I have fallen even more in love and lust with Synthia, Ryder, and the whole gang. This book made me want to laugh, cry and especially hit Ryder up side his head so many times.

We pick up where we leave off in Taunting Destiny. Syn is getting ready to be handed over to The Horde King. Of course in book 2 we think Syn is going to try and kill The Horde King, but she surprises us by getting rid of the blade. Syn has an amazing strength to her. She knows when she needs to play smart and buy some time for herself. And this is exactly what she does, but of course Amelia throws you for a loop. Syn now has to see how her furture will play out once she is taken to The Horde Kings castle, and all she wants is her F**king Fairy and he is not there to save her before she leaves. But she must face the Horde King himself and see just where she stands in the grand scheme of things. Although she never expects what she gets.

“Godda***t, Pet, See me!” He shouted as the walls shook around us.

The pending orgasm was forgotten as my entire body shook from his words. I blinked at the golden eyes that looked down at me in stunned silence. As if he was the one who was shocked at his revelation. Other than the wings, he was here. Ryder was here.

Ryder has had one goal in mind from the very beginning of the series and that is to make Syn his. Now she belongs to him and he wants to keep her always, but of course as usual Syn thanks as a human, because that is how she was raised instead of thinking as Fae. Syn thinks that she will be nothing but his concubine, but Ryder wants her as more he just has to figure out how to accomplish things.

“Sometimes I think you were created to be my perfect drug,” he growled from deep in his chest as his arms reached out and pulled me close until I was pressed hard against his burning skin. “I can’t stay away from you, and I’m drawn to you like a f**king addict.”

Amelia has a way to draw you into another world with her stories. Everything is so vivid like you are there experiencing it for yourself. I can’t wait until the fourth installment in this series is released. I need my Syn and Ryder fix!

Escaping Destiny is the 3rd book in the Fae Chronicles Series. It starts off right where the last book Taunting Destiny ends. Synthia has been handed over to the Horde King and left to her own devices.

Synthia faces challenge after challenge, day after day. She finds out through this book just how strong that she is. She is still this totally wicked kick ass chick who can keep up with the guys, if not staying one step ahead of them. She takes it upon herself to get out of sticky situations. Im so happy that she is still after 3 books a strong, independent, take no prisoners female. Shes also just as attracted to Ryder as ever, and together they are smokin hot!!

“This was what the songs wrote about; with one kiss, I was helpless to pull away. With one kiss, I was a boneless mess, and with one kiss, I was his” -Syn

Then there’s Ryder …. Oh Ryder. He continues to be this swoonworthy, demanding, protective sexy as all hell male. He finds in this book that he has to do things that may not always be ideal or his choice, but pushes through them none the less. He continues to go out of his way to prove to Syn that she is without a doubt all his. You also see a few very different sides of him that I have to say I kinda liked

“She’s my fucking anchor, and no one will take her from me again, not even to save this world?” – Ryder

This book takes you further through Ryder and Syns relationship, but also gives you more information about the other characters in the novel. They are all super sexy alpha males with hearts of gold and honor as for as the eye can see. I have to say that I thought Ristan was cool before this book but I completely adore him now #TeamRistan!

I love this series and am so glad that this far into the series the magic hasn’t dwindled and that Im still as enamoured over it as I was in the beginning! You’re constantly surprised and never see any of the big twists and turns coming. I cannot say enough about this book! Amelia I love it and you hard!

This book deserves WAY more than the just 5 stars I’m able to give it! I love when a book gives you a wicked hangover and keeps you thinking about it days, even weeks after reading it. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for us in the next installment: Seducing Destiny
